Relying on Fuling's rich shale gas resources, Chongqing Jianfeng New Materials Co., Ltd. seized the opportunity and made full use of the advantages of adipic acid (AA), 1,4 butanediol (BDO), and phthalic acid (PTA) intermediates to extend the chain., built the city's first PBAT and PBS biodegradable plastic production line, filling the new material industry chain from shale gas → acetylene →1,4 butanediol →PBAT/PBS, filling the gap in Fuling City's degradable plastic production.

    Chongqing Jianfeng is mainly equipped with a 60,000-ton PBAT/PBS polymerization device with an annual output of 60,000-ton BDO device, 46,000-ton THF recycling device, heat medium station, finished product warehouse and other supporting facilities, with a total investment of 370 million yuan. After completion, it can produce 60,000 tons of PBAT/PBS per year, and the expected annual output value will reach 700 million yuan.

    This unit is the city's first PBAT/PBS production unit. It adopts the leading "six-kettle" process and can flexibly produce a variety of new polymer material products such as PBAT, PBS, and PBT. It has low investment per unit capacity and by-product recovery. It has significant advantages in high value and low operating costs. It also adopts the concept of circular economy to build a recycling carbon reduction device, with a carbon reduction amount of more than 189,900 tons per year.

    At present, the production equipment of the project has been mechanically completed, and the next step will be to enter the "three inspections and four determinations", the equipment debugging stage, and the conditions will be ready for production early next year. Source: BDO Research Institute
