On September 3, at the PBAT/PBS degradable plastics integrated project site of Shandong Alliance Group New Materials Co., Ltd., we saw the tower crane rotating and vehicles passing between individual building units. Construction workers carried out construction operations nervously and orderly. The scene was a hot scene with more than 500 workers starting at the same time. The entire project will be completed by the end of October and will be tested in November.

As a major implementation project in Shandong Province in 2024, the project has a total investment of 3.35 billion yuan and will be constructed in two phases. The first phase will build a 100,000-ton/year BDO production plant, the second phase will build a 200,000-ton/year maleic anhydride production plant, and the 60,000-ton/year PBAT/PBS degradable plastics production plant. The introduction of advanced instant-dry esterification and hydrogenation technology will reduce waste and energy consumption. The product quality and device intelligence have reached the international advanced level. After all the projects were completed and put into operation, the output value reached 3.2 billion yuan, and the profits and taxes reached 1.2 billion yuan.

This project is a vivid practice of Alliance Chemical focusing on the transformation and upgrading of the BDO industry and achieving the "double carbon" goal. It will promote the continuous advancement of the industrial chain towards high-end and deeper levels. After the project is put into production, it will be of great significance to promoting the development of the degradable plastics industry.
