Designed and built independently by the country, the second phase of the CNOOC Jinwan "Green Energy Port" project, the world's largest liquefied natural gas storage tank group with a single tank capacity, has been completed, marking the full completion of the largest natural gas storage and transportation base in South China and will be greatly improved. Natural gas supply guarantee capabilities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and South China.

CCTV reporter Zhang Wei: This is Gaolan Port in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. Five of the world's largest liquefied natural gas storage tanks with a height equivalent to more than 20 floors and a diameter of nearly 100 meters have been built. After 37 months of construction, they have now all been completed and entered the final preparation stage before putting into production.

The Jinwan "Green Energy Port" project is located in Jinwan District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. It includes three 160,000 cubic meters liquefied natural gas storage tanks in the first phase and five 270,000 cubic meters liquefied natural gas storage tanks in the second phase, with a total tank capacity of 1.83 million cubic meters. It is the largest natural gas storage and transportation base in South China.

Shen Bairen, Manager of the Phase II Project Department of CNOOC Jinwan "Green Energy Port": After the project is fully put into operation, it will complement the Huarong 3-1, Huizhou 21-1, Panyu 30-1 and other offshore gas fields, with gas supply covering Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and other cities to ensure the energy security of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and South China.

After five 270,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas storage tanks are put into operation, the annual liquefied natural gas processing capacity of Jinwan "Green Energy Port" will reach 7 million tons, equivalent to 10 billion cubic meters of gaseous natural gas, which can meet the needs of 30 million residents for one year. Domestic gas demand can generate 50 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. Source: Energy and Chemical Dynamics
