The National Bureau of Statistics released data on August 15. From January to July 2024, national fixed asset investment (excluding farmers) was 2.87611 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%; among them, investment in chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing increased by 9.9%.

    In terms of industries, investment in the primary industry was 536.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%; investment in the secondary industry was 9.8451 billion yuan, an increase of 12.5%; and investment in the tertiary industry was 1.83793 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.7%.

    Among the secondary industry, industrial investment increased by 12.5% year-on-year. Among them, investment in mining increased by 19.3%, investment in manufacturing increased by 9.3%, and investment in electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply increased by 23.8%.

    Among the tertiary industry, infrastructure investment (excluding electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industries) increased by 4.9% year-on-year. Among them, investment in the water conservancy management industry increased by 28.9%, investment in the air transportation industry increased by 25.5%, and investment in the railway transportation industry increased by 17.2%.

    In terms of regions, investment in the eastern region increased by 3.2% year-on-year, investment in the central region increased by 4.5%, investment in the western region increased by 0.3%, and investment in the northeastern region increased by 2.6%.

    In terms of registration types, investment by domestic-funded enterprises increased by 3.4% year-on-year, investment by Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan enterprises increased by 5.1%, and investment by foreign enterprises decreased by 15.2%. Source: Sinochem New Network
