Brazil issues preliminary anti-dumping ruling on polyether polyols against China

30 July 2024, Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of Brazil (Ministerio do Desenvolvimento, Indústria, Comércio e Servicios / Secretaria de Comércio Exterior) issued Proclamation No. 37 of 2024, which prohibits the use of polyether polyols with a molecular weight of between 300 and 4500 g / mol and a purity of not less than 90%, including polyether polyol mixtures with a concentration of not less than 90%, originating in China (Portuguese: polyóis polyéteres con peso molecular entre 300 e 4.500 g/mol e grau de pureza igual ou superior a 90%, inclusive las blendas que atendam a grau mínimo e inclusive de 90% de concentra o dos polyóis polyéteres incluídos no escopo) Antidumping affirmative preliminary ruling, but provisional anti-dumping duty is not imposed. The product concerned is MERCOSUR tax code 3907.29.39. The announcement is effective from the date of publication. The final ruling is expected to be made before 5 November 2024.

    On January 5, 2024, Brazil launched an anti-dumping investigation on polyether polyols and polyether polyol mixtures originating in China and the United States.
