On June 20, the Hunan Province Emergency Management Department issued a reply to Sinopec Hunan Petrochemical Company, Ltd.(Hunan Petrochemical) to review the safety conditions of Sinopec's 1 million tons/year ethylene refining and chemical integration project in Yueyang Region, allowing the project to be reviewed and approved. It is required that the revised and approved safety pre-evaluation report be used as one of the design bases for the project's safety facilities. The project's successful passage of the safety conditions review will further promote project construction.

    The project mainly adopts Sinopec's independent intellectual property rights and industry-leading green and low-carbon process technology. The advantages of raw materials, technology and product are superimposed on each other, which will complement the complete industrial chain from crude oil processing to modern characteristic chemicals in Yueyang, forming a "clean" Industrial pattern of oil products + modern chemicals + new materials.

    Hunan Petrochemical has a total investment of 35.68 billion yuan in the 1 million tons per year ethylene refining and chemical integration project, including the construction of 1 million tons per year of ethylene, 500,000 tons per year of pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation, etc., 14 sets of chemical units and supporting public works, and the construction site is Yueyang Green Chemical High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
