Project overview: Construction of coal pyrolysis, coal-to-methanol and downstream acetic acid, ethanol, polyglycolic acid, polyacetal and other equipment, supporting the construction of water supply, power supply, gas, steam supply, etc. in the plant area, as well as thermal power, various raw water, water and sewage treatment, etc. Public works and auxiliary facilities, service projects and living welfare facilities.

Project location: Located in Nalinhe Industrial Park, Sulige Economic Development Zone, Wudinghe Town, Ordos City, Wushen Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Before the continuation of the project, the main project of Inner Mongolia Zhuozheng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. included two projects, namely a 600,000 tons/year coal-to-methanol project and a 1 million tons/year acetic acid project. The 600,000 tons/year coal-to-methanol project obtained environmental impact assessment approval in 2008 and has successively obtained other relevant government supporting documents. The project engineering design has been completed and construction has begun. In October 2014, due to financial difficulties of YuanZhuozheng Company, the construction work was stopped. The 1 million tons/year acetic acid project obtained environmental impact assessment approval in 2020 and successively obtained other relevant government supporting documents, but the project has not yet started construction.

Due to changes in policy, market, and technological environment and Huineng Group's overall positioning of Zhuozheng Company, it is planned to optimize and optimize the product plan of the original Zhuozheng methanol project with an annual output of 1.2 million tons to a coal-to-methanol project with an annual output of 1 million tons. Combined with the characteristics of Huineng Coal Mine's high oil content in coal resources, we will achieve a higher level and cleaner utilization of coal resources through classification, efficient and clean comprehensive utilization of coal quality. It will also provide basic raw materials for subsequent projects such as methanol and acetic acid chain extension optimization, deep processing and comprehensive utilization to produce high-end chemicals and new materials.
