In the first quarter, China's energy production was basically stable, energy imports grew steadily, and the level of energy supply security was further improved. With the overall economic recovery improving, energy demand has increased, energy consumption has maintained rigid growth, new energy industries have developed rapidly, and the energy consumption structure has continued to improve.
  According to Hu Hanzhou, director of the Energy Statistics Department of the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first quarter, China's energy production was generally stable, imports maintained growth, and the energy supply foundation was further consolidated.
  Oil and gas production is stable and imports continue to grow. In the first quarter, China's industrial crude oil output above designated size was 53.48 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%; imports were 140 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%. The output of industrial natural gas above designated size was 63.2 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%, and the average daily output was 690 million cubic meters, a new high; imports were 32.79 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 22.8%.
