On April 19, Xinjiang Korla Zhongtai Petrochemical Co., Ltd.'s annual output of 250,000 tons of polyester staple fiber project was put into operation in Korla City, Xinjiang, and will become the largest polyester staple fiber production base in Northwest China.

The product of the polyester staple fiber project is polyester staple fiber. Due to its good heat resistance, thermal stability and insulation properties, it is mainly used in the cotton spinning industry. It is spun separately or blended with cotton viscose fiber, hemp, wool, etc.

"Polyester staple fiber is one of the key raw materials in the spinning and weaving industry. In the past, the polyester staple fiber needed in Xinjiang had to be purchased from other provinces and regions. Long-distance transportation increased production costs and affected product competitiveness." Hou Yu, general manager of Xinjiang Dongchunxing Textile Co., Ltd., said that the annual output of 250,000 tons of polyester staple fiber project has made up for a shortcoming in the textile and garment industry chain and supply chain, injecting new vitality into the upgrading of the textile and garment industry.

It is a concrete practice to help the construction of the autonomous region's 'eight major industrial clusters' and promote employment promotion in Xinjiang's textile and garment industry."
