Xinhua Agency, Taiyuan, March 27: Reporters learned from the Shanxi Coalbed Methane Branch of Huabei Oilfield that as China's largest coalbed gas field-the Shanxi Qinshui Coalbed Gas Field of Huabei Oilfield, the daily production of wellhead gas exceeded 7 million cubic meters on the 26th, a record high.
The Qinshui coalbed gas field is located in the southeast of Shanxi Province, covering an area of more than 3000 square kilometers, and an estimated coalbed methane resource of 600 billion cubic meters. In 2006, Huabei Oilfield obtained the coalbed methane mining rights in Qinshui Basin, Shanxi Province, and subsequently built China's first coalbed gas field with an annual surface extraction capacity of more than 2 billion cubic meters.
Coalbed methane, also known as coal mine gas, is an unconventional natural gas resource. Developing coalbed methane is of great significance for promoting coal mine safety, expanding natural gas supply, and reducing environmental pollution.
The relevant person in charge of the Shanxi Coalbed Methane Branch of Huabei Oilfield said that in recent years, Huabei Oilfield has relied on the rich coalbed methane resources of the Qinshui Basin and is based on high-level science and technology to be self-reliant. It has continuously carried out technological innovation and created a high-rank coalbed methane diversion and development method. The daily output of newly built horizontal wells has increased significantly. The proportion of high-yield wells has reached more than 48%, and the production capacity rate has reached more than 95%. It continues to maintain the momentum of increasing reserves and production.
It is reported that in the second half of 2023, the second pipeline from the Qinshui coalbed gas field in North China Oilfield in Shanxi to the national backbone pipe network was successfully completed, which can increase the pipeline export capacity of 1.5 billion cubic meters every year, forming a new "dual channel" export pattern of coalbed methane. So far, the export capacity of the Shanxi coalbed methane pipeline of North China Oilfield has reached 3.5 billion cubic meters per year, adding new guarantees for ensuring winter supply in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu and other regions.
