On March 8, Rongsheng issued an announcement stating that the 10,000-ton/year PPG production line of the 380,000-ton/year polyether plant invested and constructed by the company's holding subsidiary Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd. in Zhoushan Green Petrochemical Base has produced qualified products. The total production capacity is 310,000 tons/year.
380,000 tons/year polyether polyol plant:
On August 17, 2022, Rongsheng Petrochemical Co., Ltd. announced investment plans for three major projects: high-end new materials projects, high-performance resin projects, and 1.4 million tons/year ethylene. The total investment of the three projects exceeded 110 billion yuan. The 380,000 tons/year polyether polyol project belongs to the ethylene project.

Project content: Newly built 1.4 million tons/year of ethylene, 300,000 tons/year of vinyl acetate, 380,000 tons/year of polyether polyols, 27/600,000 tons/year PO/SM, 40/250,000 tons/year of phenol acetone, 250,000 tons/year of butadiene extraction, 350,000 tons/year of high density polyethylene, 400,000 tons/year of ABS, 100,000 tons/year of HRG latex, 60,000 tons/year of fused polybutylene-styrene, 100,000 tons/year of rare earth cis-1,000 tons/year of pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation, 100,000 tons/year of styrene, 30,000 tons/year of extracted ethylbenzene, 600,000 tons/year of styrene, 200,000 tons/year of ethylene carbonate (Including CO2 recovery from 240,000 tons/year ethylene glycol units), 800,000 tons/year ethylene glycol, membrane bag factories and other units and supporting tank farms, air separation units, ground torches, packaging and warehouses, circulating water fields, accident ponds and rainwater monitoring ponds and other supporting public works (some device types or scales may be adjusted according to market conditions).&&
Rongsheng Petrochemical said that the company's polyether unit ranks among the top five in the country in total production capacity and has significant scale benefits. The unit relies on the world's ultra-large refining and chemical integration projects, and about 90% of the raw materials (propylene oxide, propylene glycol, styrene and acrylonitrile, etc.) are produced by the company, with obvious cost competitive advantages.
In April 2023, Rongsheng Petrochemical announced that the 60,000-ton/year PPG (polyether polyol) production line of the 380,000-ton/year polyether plant invested and constructed by its holding subsidiary Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd. in Zhoushan Green Petrochemical Base has produced qualified products.
At present, the total production capacity of Rongsheng Petrochemical's polyether plant ranks among the top five in the country, with significant scale benefits.
