Recently, Zhao Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Shaanxi Weihua Group, and his party visited Luochuan Industrial Park to inspect and investigate the site selection and implementation of coal-based chemical new material projects.

At the meeting, Zhao Qiang introduced the development of Weihua Group and the outline of the planned investment and construction project. The project covers an area of about 2000 acres and has an estimated investment of about 20 billion yuan. The planned development direction is new coal-based chemical and new materials. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on project details and initially reached cooperation intentions.

Shaanxi Weihe Coal Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. is a backbone enterprise in the coal chemical industry sector of Shaanxi Coal Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd., and has two production bases in Weinan and Binzhou. The annual production capacity of the company's main products is 300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, 520,000 tons of urea, 600,000 tons of methanol, 300,000 tons of ethylene glycol, and 110,000 tons of dimethyl ether.

The leading industry of Luochuan Industrial Park is petrochemicals, focusing on the development of three types of petrochemical industries: integration of refining and chemical, high-end specialized chemicals and new chemical materials. At present, projects such as Yanchang Petroleum's 10 million tons/year refining and chemical integration transformation and upgrading, and a million-cubic-meter oil reserve warehouse have been located here. It is planned that by 2030, the total investment in the park will exceed 78 billion yuan.

As China's national economy continues to grow rapidly, the demand for fuels and petrochemicals continues to grow. Obtaining petroleum substitutes through new coal chemicals has become an important way to solve the shortage of oil and gas resources and achieve energy supply security.

Using coal as raw material to produce chemical products that can replace petroleum, the development of a new coal-energy-chemical integrated industry will play an important role in the sustainable utilization of China's energy and will be an important development direction in the next two decades. The industrialization of this technology is of great significance to extending the coal industry chain and improving the construction of new industries in coal-producing areas.
