Gujarat, India plans to build a green hydrogen manufacturing center

Recently, Gujarat, western India held the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit aimed at attracting investment. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that he will allocate 2 trillion rupees to "green growth" areas including green hydrogen in the next five years. The budget is to support the development of alternative energy sources.

During the meeting, Bhupendra Patel emphasized the importance of alternative energy to achieving energy security, clean energy and achieving net-zero emissions goals, and said Gujarat is ready to become India's green hydrogen manufacturing hub. It is said that Gujarat has formulated a special site selection policy for green hydrogen-related industries and announced that Kaqi in the west of the state and Banaskanta in the north will provide 200,000 hectares of land for the construction of a green hydrogen manufacturing center. The state said it will contribute to India's future green energy needs based on India's vision of "achieving green growth through clean and renewable energy."

Gujarat Energy Minister Kanubai Desai also emphasized that the state has the advantages of developing renewable energy-related industries, including its vast coastline, waterways and strategic location, and promised that the state government will provide necessary facilities.
