Indonesian GIA company begins design of 2.4 million alumina project

On January 10, Chinalco International Indonesia Representative Office and PT GREEN INDONESIA ALUMINA (referred to as GIA) held a signing ceremony for the pre-feasibility study PFS contract for a 2× 1.2 million tons/year metallurgical grade alumina project in Jakarta. The GIA alumina project is expected to have an investment of more than US$1.6 billion. It is planned to build two metallurgical grade alumina production lines with an annual output of 1.2 million tons. The project location is located in Bangga-Belitung Province, Indonesia.
