Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on January 17 showed that the national industrial capacity utilization rate in 2023 will be 75.1%, down 0.5 percentage points from the previous year. Among them, the capacity utilization rate of chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry was 75.3%, a decrease of 1.4% from the previous year.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, the national industrial capacity utilization rate above designated size was 75.9%, an increase of 0.2 percentage points over the same period last year and an increase of 0.3 percentage points over the previous quarter.
Looking at the three categories, in the fourth quarter of 2023, the mining industry capacity utilization rate was 77.1%, an increase of 0.6 percentage points over the same period last year; the manufacturing industry capacity utilization rate was 76.0%, an increase of 0.2 percentage points; the electricity, heat, gas and water production and supply industry capacity utilization rate was 74.4%, an increase of 0.4 percentage points.
In terms of major industries, in the fourth quarter of 2023, the capacity utilization rate of the coal mining and washing industry was 75.6%, the food manufacturing industry was 71.3%, the textile industry was 76.2%, the chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry was 76.7%, the non-metallic mineral products industry was 64.7%, the ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry was 76.4%, the non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry was 79.6%, and the general equipment manufacturing industry was 79.2%. Special equipment manufacturing accounted for 77.5%, automobile manufacturing accounted for 76.9%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing accounted for 77.1%, and computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing accounted for 77.6%.
