Recently, the second phase of the Gulf Chemical vinyl chloride plant completed 614 maintenance tasks such as replacing catalysts in oxychlorination reactors, cleaning coke from cracking furnace and weld inspection of furnace tubes, replacing VCM top condenser, and boiling of quench towers one day ahead of schedule, entering the "New cycle".
According to the relevant person in charge, after the overhaul, the efficiency of the Phase II unit of the VCM has been significantly improved, and the pressure difference in the oxychlorination reactor has been reduced to one-third of the original; the purity of the intermediate product EDC has been increased by 0.08 percentage points; after the heat exchanger is cleaned, it can save 4.9 tons of steam per hour.
