Statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics on November 15 showed that in October, the production of major energy products in industries above designated size continued to maintain year-on-year growth. Compared with September, the growth of raw coal and crude oil production accelerated, while the growth rate of natural gas and electricity production declined.
The growth rate of raw coal production accelerated, and imports grew rapidly. In October, 390 million tons of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%. The growth rate was 3.4 percentage points faster than that in September, and the average daily output was 12.54 million tons. Imported coal was 35.99 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 23.3%, and the growth rate dropped by 4.5 percentage points from September.
1-10 In March, 3.83 billion tons of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%. Imported coal was 380 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 66.8%.
The growth rate of crude oil production accelerated slightly, and imports maintained rapid growth. In October, 17.33 million tons of crude oil were produced, a year-on-year increase of 0.5%. The growth rate was 0.2 percentage points faster than that in September, and the average daily output was 559,000 tons. Imported crude oil was 48.97 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.5%, and the growth rate slowed down by 0.2 percentage points from September.
1-10 In March, crude oil was produced at 174.05 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.7%. Imported crude oil was 473.22 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.4%.
Crude oil processing maintained steady growth. In October, 63.93 million tons of crude oil were processed, a year-on-year increase of 9.1%. The growth rate slowed down by 2.9 percentage points from September, and the average daily crude oil was processed was 2.062 million tons. 1-10 In March, 618.76 million tons of crude oil were processed, a year-on-year increase of 11.2%.
Natural gas production remained stable and import growth accelerated. In October, the production of natural gas was 19 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 2.6%. The growth rate dropped by 6.7 percentage points from September, and the average daily output was 610 million cubic meters. Imported natural gas was 8.79 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%, and the growth rate was 15.1 percentage points faster than that in September.
1-10 In March, natural gas production was 189.6 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%. Imported natural gas was 96.51 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.8%.
Electricity production has grown steadily. In October, power generation was 704.4 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%. The growth rate slowed by 2.5 percentage points from September, and the average daily power generation was 22.72 billion kilowatt-hours. 1-10 In March, power generation was 7.333 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%.
