According to the report on the development of China's titanium industry, the supply of titanium has increased rapidly in the past five years. In 2022, China produced about 180000 tons of titanium, of which 46% were used in aerospace, energy, chemical and other key areas of component production. In the future, with the higher requirements for localization and lightweight equipment in aerospace and other fields, the demand for titanium and titanium alloy parts will also increase greatly. China's original magnesium output in 2022 is 893600 tons, 80% of which is used in automobile manufacturing and aerospace parts manufacturing. With the demand for high-end aerospace equipment and lightweight automotive parts, the demand for magnesium alloy applications will continue to grow.

Qinghai Province is rich in titanium and magnesium resources. Take the 2000 ton / day mining project on the south slope of Tingcha Mountain in Wulan County, Haixi Mongolian Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture as an example, the mining area is 1.21km2, the mining scale is 2000 tons / day, and the service life of the mine is 42.7years. At present, the metal magnesium integration project of Chaerhan Salt Lake has lower carbon dioxide emissions than the current modified Pijiang method in China, and the metal magnesium produced is the cleanest magnesium in the world. Qinghai Salt Lake magnesium Industry Co., Ltd. now has a metal magnesium production line of 100000 tons / year, and Qinghai Haijiangte magnesium Industry Co., Ltd. has built a magnesium alloy production line of 56000 tons / year. At present, the metal magnesium in Haixi state has not been produced stably and continuously, the preparation cost is high, and the size of the prepared magnesium ingot is small, so it can not be applied on a large scale.

To create the industrial "four places" is the direction that General Secretary pointed out for the high-quality development of Qinghai, and it is the action path to build a green and low-carbon circular development economic system. To achieve magnesium alloy materials from magnesium ingots to produce → magnesium alloy slab extrusion → magnesium alloy parts precision machining of the complete industry chain.
