On July 7th, the public participation in the environmental impact assessment of the first phase of 484000 tons / year calcium carbide project of Wuhai Guangjin New Materials Co., Ltd. was announced for the first time.

Project Overview: Wuhai Guangjin New Materials Co., Ltd. was established on March 14, 2022. Inner Mongolia Guangju New Materials Co., Ltd. is wholly owned by Inner Mongolia Guangju New Materials Co., Ltd. it is located in the low-carbon Industrial Park of Wuhai High-tech Industrial Development Zone of Inner Mongolia Autonomous region. the scope of business includes chemical product production (excluding licensed chemical products); chemical product sales (excluding licensed chemical products); bio-based materials sales; eco-environmental materials sales Packaging materials and products sales; plastic products manufacturing; plastic products sales; special chemical products sales (excluding hazardous chemicals); solid waste treatment; new materials technology research and development; new materials technology promotion services; biochemical product technology research and development; basic chemical raw materials manufacturing (excluding hazardous chemicals and other licensed chemicals); bio-based materials manufacturing.
1 BDO is an important organic chemical raw material, which can derive a series of chemical products, γ-butyrolactone and PU. It can also be used to produce poly (butylene terephthalate), PTMEG and further synthesize polyurethane, especially biodegradable material PBAT. These products are widely used in chemical industry, medicine, textile, machinery and daily chemical industry, and are a very active industrial chain. The industrial chain has high technical content and high added value, so it can seize the market opportunity and vigorously build the 1meme 4-butanediol project, which can not only provide the products needed to the market, but also lay a good foundation for Inner Mongolia Guangna Group to adjust its product structure and develop new material products with high added value.
This project is the matching production line of BDO, which uses limestone and blue carbon as raw materials to produce calcium carbide, and the downstream plant uses alkyne method to produce 1BD (BDO) products.
The area where the project is located was originally Wuhai Hongyuan New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., which originally planned a calcium carbide production capacity of 1.2 million tons per year, supporting 12 × 48MVA calcium carbide furnace production equipment. Calcium carbide production adopts Shenwu "Regenerative calcium Carbide production process". The environmental impact report of Wuhai Environmental Protection Bureau on the 400000 t / a PE polygeneration demonstration project of Wuhai Shenwu Coal Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. was approved by Wuhai Environmental Protection Bureau in 2015. Construction began at the end of 2015. Due to poor cash flow, it has been shut down since 2017, and about 5% of the total construction volume has been completed during the construction period.
Now Inner Mongolia Guangna Group Wuhai Guangjin New Materials Co., Ltd. plans to demolish some buildings on the ground and rebuild the calcium carbide project, which is planned to be divided into two phases: the first phase is to build 6 48000kVA calcium carbide furnaces with a production capacity of 484000 tons / year; the second phase is to build 6 48000kVA calcium carbide furnaces with a production capacity of 716000 tons / year.
This project is the first phase of 484000 t / a calcium carbide project, with the construction of 6 calcium carbide furnaces in 3 electric furnace workshops (a single calcium carbide furnace maintains the capacity of 48000kVA), supporting the construction of 3 800t/d double-chamber lime kilns and 3 20t/h vertical drying kilns, benefiting part of the factory building foundation and building related ancillary facilities at the same time. Therefore, the construction unit is now carrying out the environmental impact assessment of the first phase of 484000 tons / year calcium carbide project of Wuhai Guangjin New material Co., Ltd.
On April 1, Inner Mongolia Guangna Coal Group low-carbon Park Industrial Park New Project launching ceremony was held in Wuhai High-tech Industrial Park low-carbon Park Guangna Group Industrial Park. On that day, a total of nine projects were started, with a total investment of more than 12 billion yuan, including Guangjin 300000 tons / year BDO co-production of 300000 tons / year PBAT (BDO-PBAT integration project).

Construction scale: the project will be built in two phases, the first phase will be the construction of 300000 / yt 1pi 4-butanediol (BDO) project, a 120000 t / a calcium carbide acetylene plant, a 3x100000 t / a BDO plant, 3x240kt / a formaldehyde (37%) plant, as well as public works and auxiliary facilities for the above-mentioned devices.
Using acetylene gas in acetylene plant, formaldehyde solution in formaldehyde plant and hydrogen produced in upstream unit as raw materials, 1m 4-butanediol (BDO) was produced by alkynation reaction, hydrogenation reaction and distillation in BDO main unit. Phase II 300000 / yt degradable plastic (PBAT) project, 5 sets of 60kt / yr PBAT units, and their supporting utilities and auxiliary facilities; the 300000 t / a PBAT plant in this project adopts transesterification, with purchased refined terephthalic acid (PTA), adipic acid (AA) and upstream BDO as raw materials, the main product is PBAT chips, and the by-product is 32000 tons of tetrahydrofuran per year.
