According to data from GlobalData, by increasing the production capacity of new and expansion projects between 2023 and 2027, Asia will lead the production capacity increase of the global PVC industry with a 70% share by 2027.

According to the latest report from GlobalData, by 2027, the total annual polyvinyl chloride production capacity of new and expansion projects in Asia is expected to reach 7.77 million tons. Increased demand for PVC in the packaging and construction industries is a key factor driving the growth of the PVC industry in Asia.

Nivedita Roy, an oil and gas analyst at GlobalData, commented that judging from the upcoming new projects, the region is expected to add 6.18 million tons/year of production capacity from 12 planned and announced projects, while judging from the expansion of existing polyvinyl chloride projects, the region is expected to add 1.59 million tons/year of production capacity from the seven planned and announced projects.

India's main production capacity increase will come from a planned project, the Mondra Petrochemical Mondra PVC plant, with an annual production capacity of 2 million tons. Production of polyvinyl chloride is expected to begin in 2026.
