On August 20, a symposium on optimization and change of the coal-to-olefin upgrade demonstration project of China Power Investment Corporation was held in the Jungar Economic Development Zone, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The heads of the Development and Reform Commission of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Zhungeer Banner of Ordos City, Sinopec Great Wall Institute, Energy and Chemical (Inner Mongolia) Co., Ltd.(Dalu Project Preparatory Team) and relevant departments of the development zone attended.
China Power Investment Corporation's coal-to-olefin upgrade demonstration project will be organized by the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Planning Institute to conduct a project optimization and change review meeting, which will include planning and industrial policy compliance, project plan, resource development and comprehensive utilization, ecological and environmental impact, and safety. Scientific evaluation and demonstration from various aspects such as production, economic impact and social impact.
At the symposium, the person in charge of Sinopec Great Wall Energy Corporation introduced the relevant progress after the optimization and changes of the project, and exchanged views on how the two parties can further deepen cooperation and achieve win-win development.
The meeting requested that both parties be based on reality, adhere to complementary advantages, mutual benefit and win-win results, and jointly make suggestions to promote project construction and further enhance the competitiveness of enterprises. The meeting emphasized that all localities and departments should enhance their awareness of the overall situation and promptly implement various service guarantee work in accordance with the work tasks deployed by the autonomous region party committee and municipal party committee. It is necessary to set up a special work team as soon as possible to make every effort to help enterprises relieve difficulties, ensure the orderly advancement of project construction, and realize the start of project construction as soon as possible. It is reported that on July 23, 2019, the Ordos City Government and Sinopec Great Wall Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. jointly signed a cooperation agreement on the coal-to-olefin project. The contracted cooperative coal-to-olefins project is located in Dalu Industrial Park, Ordos City, with a total investment of 23.8 billion yuan. It utilizes local coal resources and uses technologies such as pressurized gasification of pulverized coal, methanol synthesis, methanol to olefins, and olefin polymerization to produce 800,000 tons/a of polyethylene, polypropylene and other products.
