China's Urea Import and Export Data for August 2023
According to customs data, in August 2023, China exported 314,000 tons of urea, a year-on-year decrease of 10.6% and a month-on-month decrease of 2.94%, with an average export price of 334.53 USD/ton. From January to August 2023, the cumulative export volume was 1.647 million tons, an increase of 421,000 tons compared to the same period last year, representing a year-on-year increase of 34.34%.
Similarly, the customs data show that in August 2023, China imported 9.42 tons of urea, a year-on-year decrease of 51.38% and a month-on-month decrease of 52.6%, with an average import price of 2351.35 USD/ton. From January to August 2023, the cumulative import volume was 2143.35 tons, an increase of 226.91 tons compared to the same period last year, representing a year-on-year increase of 11.84%.
In August 2023, the top five countries to which China exported urea were Chile, Myanmar, South Korea, Sri Lanka, and Brazil, accounting for 25%, 17%, 16%, 14%, and 9% of the total export volume, respectively.
