According to customs data, in October 2023, China imported 31,300 tons of synthetic ammonia, an increase of 3.12 tons compared to the same period last year, representing a year-on-year increase of 31,200.00%; a decrease of 0.24 tons compared to the previous month, down 7.12% month-on-month; with an average import price of $520.87 per ton. From January to October 2023, the cumulative import volume was 622,300 tons, an increase of 427,600 tons compared to last year, up 219.55% year-on-year.
Furthermore, in October 2023, China exported 16,200 tons of synthetic ammonia, a decrease of 0.45 tons compared to the same period last year, down 21.84% year-on-year; a decrease of 0.81 tons compared to the previous month, up 99.75% month-on-month; with an average export price of $598.07 per ton. From January to October 2023, the cumulative export volume was 177,000 tons, an increase of 51,100 tons compared to last year, up 40.56% year-on-year.
In October 2023, the main importing country of China's synthetic ammonia was Indonesia, accounting for 100% of the total import volume. The main exporting countries for China's synthetic ammonia in October were Australia, South Korea, and Japan, accounting for 50%, 25%, and 23% of the total export volume, respectively.
