Zhuhai Port's No. 2 and No. 3 berths at the unloading terminal complete certification for the shore power facility upgrade project.
Recently, the shore power facility upgrade project for berths 2 and 3 of the Zhuhai Port unloading terminal, undertaken by the Installation Company of CCCC First Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., successfully passed the full-process certification. This marks that the project is officially ready for ship connection, which will comprehensively enhance the green power supply capacity of the unloading terminal and the energy support level for ships docking at the port.

Since the start of the project, it has undergone in-depth design and manufacturing of the ship-to-shore power system, equipment foundation construction, installation of foundational equipment, system debugging, CCS certification, and ship-to-shore linkage testing. The shore power system has now achieved stable operation. The successful certification of this project will set a benchmark for the low-carbon transformation of ports in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
This shore power project involves upgrading the existing equipment. The main power supply for the project is drawn from Substation No. 2, with cables laid from the shore power room of Substation No. 2 to a newly added box-type shore power container at Berth 3. The container is equipped with a 2500kVA shore power frequency conversion power supply. A high-voltage shore power socket box is installed at the front of Berth 2, and both high- and low-voltage shore power socket boxes are installed at the front of Berth 3, achieving full power supply coverage for both berths.
After the project is put into operation, it will fully replace fuel-powered generation during ship docking, effectively reducing exhaust emissions and port noise. It will continuously improve the green and low-carbon infrastructure of Zhuhai Port, injecting green momentum into the high-quality development of ports in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
