The first domestic green methanol bunkering operation for an internationally navigating bulk carrier has been successfully completed.

On September 6, the first domestic green methanol bunkering operation for an internationally navigating bulk carrier was successfully completed at the Dazhi Mountain anchorage of Guangzhou Port in Guangdong. Sinopec Zhonghai Fuel Supply used the methanol dual-fuel bunkering vessel "Daqing 268" to refuel the international bulk carrier "Green Future" with 1,021 tons of green methanol in a ship-to-ship mode, marking the first methanol ship-to-ship bunkering operation at Guangzhou Port.
Domestic green methanol bunkering is mostly applied to container ships and roll-on/roll-off ships. Bulk carriers, due to their large bunkering volumes and flexible routes and port calls, have higher requirements for fuel supply chain stability and coverage of refueling points. This operation has positioned Guangzhou Port among domestic green methanol bunkering ports. As of now, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has achieved green methanol bunkering in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, advancing the regional green methanol supply chain from single-point trials to a new stage of coordinated linkage.
