Jiangsu Launches Special Rectification of Major Hazards in Port Dangerous Goods

Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transportation held a meeting to arrange and deploy a special rectification of major safety risks and hazards related to dangerous goods at ports. This rectification action will last until the end of September and cover all areas of the province.

All regions in Jiangsu will conduct safety risk assessments rigorously, practically, and meticulously to ensure that major hazards are identified and addressed, risk control measures are implemented, and tiered and categorized handling is carried out effectively. This will significantly enhance the intrinsic safety level of major dangerous goods sources at ports across the province. Local port administrative departments will strengthen supervision and provide full guidance, organizing provincial and national experts or institutions with professional backgrounds in chemical safety, equipment inspection, and extensive work experience to conduct review assessments.

The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transportation requires all regions and units to strengthen coordination and collaboration, closely cooperate, and comprehensively carry out service guidance, scheduling coordination, and tracking supervision. Local management departments will simultaneously increase business training for frontline staff, provide precise guidance for assessment work, and make every effort to ensure the rectification work is implemented effectively. Currently, as the flood season and summer vacation overlap, extreme weather such as typhoons and high temperatures intertwine with safety risks. Relevant municipalities should proactively strengthen their connection with meteorological departments, closely monitor weather warning information, and effectively carry out port safety prevention work.
