Probability of the Fed Keeping Rates Unchanged in July Stands at 84.5%
July 21: According to CME FedWatch, the probability that the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates unchanged in July is 84.5%, while the probability of a cumulative 25 bps rate hike is 15.5%.
By September, the probability that the Federal Reserve will keep rates unchanged is 36.0%; the probability of a cumulative 25 bps rate hike is 55.1%; and the probability of a cumulative 50 bps rate hike is 8.9%.
Japanese Media: “Hidden Debt” of Five Major U.S. Tech Giants Surges to $1.65 Trillion
July 21: A Nikkei study shows that as artificial intelligence investment surges, the hidden debt of U.S. technology giants has increased eightfold in just four years, reaching an estimated $1.65 trillion. This figure exceeds the actual debt recorded on their balance sheets, making it more difficult for investors to assess related risks.
Nikkei analyzed recent financial statements and other materials from Google parent Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Oracle. Among them, Meta’s off-balance-sheet debt is particularly high, at around $420 billion, almost three times the debt recorded on its books.
