The December 2025 data released by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange shows regional differences in the efficiency of container ship operations in major ports around the world. The average time in port and berthing in China's major ports is 1.61 days and 0.96 days respectively, which is better than that of major foreign ports as a whole. The efficiency of ports in Europe and the United States fluctuated, with the port of Los Angeles having the longest time in port (3.83 days), Hamburg and New York ports increasing month-on-month, and Rotterdam port improving.
