Two 20-meter-class patrol ships of the Hebei Maritime Safety Administration were successfully launched.
On October 15, the two newly built 20-meter patrol ships "Haixun 04606" and "Haixun 04707" of the Hebei Maritime Safety Administration were officially launched at the Puyangjiang Dock of Hangzhou Qianhang Shipbuilding and Repair Co., Ltd. Representatives from the Hebei Maritime Safety Administration, Wuhan University of Technology Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and China Classification Society Industrial Co., Ltd. Dalian Branch attended the launching ceremony.
At 9 a.m. that day, the "Haixun 04707" ship was the first to be launched using the airbag launching method. From airbag arrangement, inflation, mounting removal, to traction sliding into the water, the whole process was completed smoothly and steadily. The "Haixun 04606" ship was successfully launched in the same manner on the same day.
The "Haixun 04606" and "Haixun 04707" ships adopt the 20-meter Class B coastal patrol ship type of the maritime system, with construction optimized according to the characteristics of tasks in the Hebei jurisdiction. The main hull of the ships is a single bottom, single deck, steel all-welded structure, and the superstructure is an aluminum welded structure. The ships are powered by two high-speed marine diesel engines and equipped with high-efficiency propeller propulsion. The stern design features a rounded bilge with a short knuckle and square stern, while the wheelhouse includes an overhanging roof. The designed navigable area is the coastal navigation area. The main dimensions of the ships are 22.12 meters × 4.50 meters × 2.40 meters (length × breadth × depth), with a design draft of 1.23 meters and a design speed of 20.0 knots.
The project began construction on April 2 this year. After the launch, following one month of testing and trial voyages, the ships will be delivered for use in November this year, deployed to the Caofeidian Maritime Safety Administration and the Cangzhou Maritime Safety Administration, to further enhance the maritime patrol and law enforcement capabilities in the Hebei jurisdiction.
The successful construction and smooth launch of this type of patrol ship is an important measure by the Hebei Maritime Safety Administration to implement the Ministry of Transport's deployment for strengthening maritime regulatory capacity. It is also a crucial step in improving maritime traffic safety assurance in the Hebei jurisdiction. The commissioning of the two ships will effectively address the current shortcomings of grassroots maritime law enforcement in rapid response and regular patrols, further strengthening on-site supervision and emergency response capabilities in key water areas such as important waterways, anchorages, offshore construction areas, and ship-dense regions.
Next, the Hebei Maritime Safety Administration will follow the annual equipment construction plan, continuously monitor the operational status of the ships, and ensure that all performance indicators meet mission requirements. With the incorporation of the two new ships, the overall scale and equipment structure of the Hebei Maritime Safety Administration's public service fleet will be further optimized, providing stronger equipment support for fulfilling maritime regulatory responsibilities and safeguarding national maritime interests.
